Frank Lampard’s second stint as Chelsea coach is not going according to plan, with the former midfielder suffering a record-breaking losing streak. The 44-year-old matched a 35-year-old unwanted record after Chelsea slumped to a 3-1 loss against Arsenal, making it six losses in as many games since he took over as interim boss. The Blues’ great is looking completely out of his depth as the team continues to disappoint under his leadership.

The defeat at the Emirates Stadium was the 10th loss in a row for Lampard as a manager in all competitions. Lampard’s coaching record is far from impressive, as he has now lost 17 of his last 20 Premier League games, drawing twice and winning only once. In the current run of 20 games, Chelsea has conceded a total of 39 goals while scoring just 13.

Lampard’s second spell in charge of Chelsea has been disastrous, with the team struggling to find any sort of form under his guidance. Despite his legendary status as a player, Lampard is failing to make an impact as a coach, and his tenure is starting to look increasingly untenable.

The Chelsea hierarchy may soon have to make a tough decision about Lampard’s future. The club’s fans will be hoping for a change in fortunes, but the results suggest that Lampard is unlikely to be the man to deliver it. With the transfer window looming, it will be interesting to see if Chelsea’s board will give Lampard the time to turn things around or if they will seek a new manager to take the club forward.
